Abstract: ABSTRACT BIODEGRADABLE TOPICAL FLUORIDE APPLICATION TRAY The disclosed embodiment relates to a biodegradable topical fluoride application tray. More particularly, the tray is comprised of areca nut leaf sheaths. The tray device has an arch-conforming U-shaped configuration comprising an inner fluoride-receiving surface, peripheral wall(s), and a central bite- stabilization region. The said tray device comprises of micro-embossing channels on its inner surface for enhanced fluoride retention, reduced salivary dilution and minimized leakage of fluoride gel. The tray has differential surfaces wherein the outer surface is closed and made non-porous and the inner surface is made porous. The present disclosure also encompasses a method for manufacturing the tray device with compression molding. The said tray is a disposable applicator tray for administering fluoride gel and other dental medications.
