MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641071833 A) filed by Sr University on June 09, 2026, for Biodegradable Composite Translucent Structure And Method Of Preparation Thereof.

Inventor includes Sathya Vani Bandela.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: BIODEGRADABLE COMPOSITE TRANSLUCENT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF ABSTRACT A biodegradable composite translucent structure (100) is disclosed. The translucent structure (100) comprising kapok fibers (102) comprising hollow microstructures having a preset porosity, such that the hollow microstructures of the kapok fibers (102) reduce weight and improve insulation characteristics of the translucent structure (100); a polymer matrix (104) comprising a water-resistant adhesive and a soy protein isolate carrier component; a coupling-treated interface (106) formed between the kapok fibers (102) and the polymer matrix (104) through silane treatment, alkaline processing, or a combination thereof; and a composite body (108) formed by distribution of the kapok fibers (102) within the polymer matrix (104). The translucent structure (100) provides reduced weight, thermal insulation, and sound dampening characteristics through utilization of the kapok fibers (102) having a preset porosity.
