MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621095966 A) filed by Sakshi Nandkumar Band on August 07, 2026, for Biodegradable Composite Composition Comprising A Pla Matrix And A Lignocellulosic Natural Particulate Filler.
Inventor includes Sakshi Nandkumar Band.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a biodegradable composite composition comprising a polylactic acid (PLA) matrix, a lignocellulosic natural particulate filler derived from bamboo husk, bamboo powder, bamboo fibre, agricultural residues or combinations thereof, and citric acid. The biodegradable composite composition comprises about 50–90 wt.% of the PLA matrix, about 10–50 wt.% of the lignocellulosic natural particulate filler, and about 1–5 wt.% of the citric acid, wherein the citric acid improves interfacial adhesion between the PLA matrix and the lignocellulosic natural particulate filler. The biodegradable composite composition is prepared by drying, pretreating, melt-compounding, extruding, pelletizing, and molding to obtain biodegradable composite pellets and rigid molded articles or semi-rigid molded articles. The biodegradable composite composition exhibits controlled biodegradation under composting conditions while maintaining suitable processability and mechanical performance.
