Abstract: Title: Biodegradable Bio-Wrapper from Agricultural Waste Materials The present invention relates to the development of biodegradable bio-wrappers utilizing agricultural waste materials such as banana pseudo stem, sugarcane bagasse, and areca nut husk as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging. The process involves fiber extraction through washing, alkaline treatment, drying, and milling, followed by blending with biopolymers such as starch, chitosan, and gelatin, along with plasticizers like glycerol and acetic acid to enhance flexibility and mechanical strength. The formulated slurry is molded and oven-dried to obtain bio- wrappers with desirable characteristics, including tensile strength, elasticity, water resistance, and biodegradability. Characterization studies, including tensile testing, water absorption, and biodegradability assessments, confirm the wrapper’s structural integrity and environmental benefits. The bio-wrappers decompose naturally, making them suitable for food and agricultural packaging applications while contributing to waste reduction and sustainability efforts.
