MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511007358 A) filed by Amity University on January 29, 2025, for Biocompatible De Novo Indolylchalcones As Platelet Aggregation Inhibition And Diabetic Wound Healing Agents.

Abstract: The present invention provides indolylchalcones (compounds 9–15) and new N-acetylated indolylchalcones (compounds 20–27) and a method for preparing the same by using the process of Claisen–Schmidt condensation, followed by acylation reactions. The compounds 24 and 25 showed a significant increase in nitric oxide synthase activity. Additionally, these compounds inhibited platelet aggregation to improve wound healing in diabetic models, reduced pro inflammatory cytokines, and increased anti-inflammatory markers. These indolyl chalcones of the present invention may serve as effective, safe, and non-toxic treatments for preventing platelet aggregation and promoting healing in diabetic wounds, suggesting potential uses.
