Abstract: ABSTRACT BIOCIDAL COMPOSITION AND ITS METHOD OF PREPARATION The present invention relates to a biocidal composition that comprises, peracetic acid or a peracetic acid–forming composition in an amount of 20–40% w/w, vanillyl alcohol in an amount of 5–15% w/w, ethylene glycol in an amount of 5–15% w/w, propylene glycol n-butyl ether in an amount of 3–10% w/w, benzethonium chloride in an amount of 5–15% w/w, polysorbate 20 in an amount of 1–5% w/w, acetic acid in an amount of 2–8% w/w; and water forming the balance to 100% w/w. The peracetic acid is generated in situ from hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid during preparation, thereby enhancing stability and reducing decomposition losses. The ethylene glycol and propylene glycol n-butyl ether together form a dual solvent system that improves solubility and stability of active components. Accompanied drawing [Figure 1]
