Abstract: The present invention discloses a bioadhesive polymeric spray formulation designated as C- HerboCure-DM developed for sustained delivery of plant-derived bioactive compounds in diabetic wounds. The formulation comprises an aqueous leaf extract ofJasmimrm grandiflorum integrated into a chitosan-alginate polyelectrolyte complex along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing and viscosity-modifying agents. The electrostatic interaction between chitosan and alginate forms a structured bioadhesive network that enhances wound surface retention and regulates release kinetics of the incorporated extract. The developed spray demonstrates prolonged adhesion to simulated wound surfaces, sustained release behavior, antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound-associated pathogens, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The invention provides a stable, scalable, and non-invasive therapeutic platform suitable for sustained drug delivery in diabetic wound care.
