Abstract: BIOACTIVE CELLULOSE VEIL -BASED FRESHNESS INDICATOR TAG FOR FOOD PACKAGING Abstract 5 10 15 The increasing demand for safe, sustainable, and real-time food quality monitoring has led to the development of bioactive cellulose-based freshness indicators. The Bioactive Cellulose Veil Food Freshness Tag is an eco-friendly, biodegradable sensing platform that utilizes a cellulose nanofiber matrix integrated with natural pH-sensitive pigments and plant-derived antimicrobial agents. This innovative system provides a visible color change in response to chemical and microbial alterations occurring during food spoilage, enabling consumers to easily distinguish between fresh, consumable, and contaminated food. The incorporation of natural crosslinkers enhances film stability, while green-synthesized bioactive components ensure biocompatibility and environmental safety. By combining food safety monitoring with waste reduction, the bioactive cellulose veil tag offers a cost-effective and sustainable solution for intelligent food packaging.
