Abstract: ABSTRACT BIO-RECEPTIVE ARTIFICIAL REEF BLOCKS COMPRISING GRAPHENE-REINFORCED COMPOSITES AND SALINE-DERIVED MINERAL FILLERS The present invention relates to a novel formulation for artificial reef construction. It comprises a binder matrix (10-40 wt.%), marine aggregates (30-80 wt.%), and saline-derived mineral fillers (5-40 wt.%). Graphene reinforcement (0.01-5 wt.%) enhances structural integrity, while bio-receptive additives (0-20 wt.%) facilitate ecological integration. The binder matrix can be diverse, including geopolymer, alkali-activated, algae-derived bio resin, epoxy resin, polymer resin, or hybrid geopolymer-polymer systems, with minimal Portland cement (less than 20 wt.%). Marine aggregates include coral sand and crushed oyster shell, and saline-derived mineral fillers consist of compounds such as calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, carbonated mineral products, or combinations thereof. Graphene reinforcement options encompass nanoplatelets and graphene oxide, and bio-receptive additives range from coral grit to aragonite powder. This formulation is configured to provide structural stability, marine compatibility, and bio-receptive functionality.
