MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611093001 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on July 31, 2026, for Bio-Inspired Asymmetric Keto-Enol Isomerization Of Dihydroquinolinone Via [1,7]-Proton Shift Observed Kinetic Resolution (kr).

Inventors include Singh, Ravi P.; and Harit, Harish Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention focuses on the synthesis of highly substituted novel axially chiral 3,4-diaryl quinoline-2-ones and 3,4-diaryl-dihydroquinolin-2-one derivatives. This protocol unveils a novel bioinspired asymmetric keto-enol isomerization approach via a [1,7]-proton-shift pathway. A broad spectrum of enantiopure 3,4-diaryl quinolin-2-one analogs could be afforded in good to excellent yields. Additionally, the present methodology has been elegantly utilized for gram-scale synthesis of the isomerized products and for post-synthetic transformation.
