Abstract: ABSTRACT: Bio-Gas Carbon Dioxide Capture Using Calcium Hydroxide Reactive Absorption System This invention describes a calcium hydroxide based bio-gas carbon dioxide capture and methane upgrading system. The system is configured to receive raw bio- gas containing methane and carbon dioxide and to contact said bio-gas with an aqueous calcium hydroxide reactive medium. Carbon dioxide is absorbed and chemically converted into precipitated calcium carbonate through controlled carbonation, thereby producing a methane-enriched gas stream having reduced carbon dioxide content. The reacted slurry is subjected to heat-assisted degassing to release retained methane-containing gas, which is recovered and combined with the upgraded gas stream. Condensable moisture is removed from the combined gas stream to provide a drier methane-rich product gas. The calcium carbonate formed during carbonation is separated as a recoverable solid by-product, while the remaining mother liquor is routed for recycle, reconditioning, treatment, purge, or controlled discharge. The system provides integrated carbon dioxide capture, methane enrichment, mineral carbonation, gas dehydration, by-product recovery, and liquid reuse.
