Abstract: Abstract The invention relates to a biodegradable and completely organic sweat pad containing essential oils having antimicrobial properties. The sweat pad is composed of any natural paper such as banana paper, xanthan gum-based hydrogel film, organic adhesive, and a biodegradable paper. The sweat pad incorporates key ingredients carefully chosen for their exceptional properties and sustainability, ensuring both efficacy and environmental responsibility. Xanthan gum-based hydrogel film contains Xanthan gum, one or more essential oils and small amount of citric acid. The sweat pad is prepared by a unique process wherein hydrogel is prepared and concentrated by heating to 50 – 75 % of its original volume followed by drying in an oven. The Sweat pad is fully biodegradable and found to degrade within 4 months when kept in contact with soil.
