MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541012399 A) filed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited on February 13, 2025, for Bio-Compostable Film Compositions With Modified Thermoplastic Chitosan And Process Of Preparation Thereof.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a modified thermoplastic chitosan (TPC) composition and a bio-compostable film composition comprising said modified thermoplastic chitosan (TPC) composition and process of preparation thereof. The bio-compostable film composition comprises polylactic acid (PLA) in the range of 10-30 wt.%; polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) in the range of 50-70 wt.%; and modified thermoplastic chitosan (TPC) in the range of 0.5-5 wt.%.
