MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641122457 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on October 13, 2026, for Binocular Vision Assessment Using Ai Technology.
Inventors include B. Chandra Sainadh Reddy; Dr. Suresh Balakrishnan; Dr. Divyabharathi Nandakumar; and Dr Ramya Mohan.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention describes a simple, mobile-based and non-invasive system for assessing binocular vision and eye movement behavior using artificial intelligence and computer vision technology. Traditional binocular vision tests often require clinical equipment, trained professionals, and hospital visits, making them difficult to access for students, children, and people in remote areas. The proposed system solves this problem by using a regular mobile phone camera to analyze eye movements in real time without any extra hardware. The system works through a mobile application that allows users to perform basic visual tasks while the device camera captures eye movement data. Artificial intelligence models analyze eye alignment, eye movement coordination, gaze direction, and attention patterns from the video frames. Important features such as eye stability, synchronization between both eyes, movement deviation, and focus behavior are extracted and evaluated. To make the results easy to understand, the system uses explainable AT techniques such as visual markers, eye-movement paths, and simple indicators showing how the Al reached its conclusion. Based on the analysis, the system classifies the binocular vision condition into categories such as normal vision, mild deviation, or attention required. The results are displayed in a clear and student-friendly interface with helpful explanations and confidence indicators. The invention is designed for early screening, educational use, and research support. It does not replace clinical eye examinations but helps users identify potential vision-related issues at an early stage. This solution offers an affordable, portable, and accessible approach to binocular vision assessment using modern Al technology.
