MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078120 A) filed by Kea-Data Private Limited on June 24, 2026, for Bidirectional Data Modelling System And Method For Kimball And Dbt Conversion.
Inventor includes Yalpi, Jyothi.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A method for bidirectional data modelling between Kimball dimensional models and dbt data transformation projects includes receiving, by a processing system (100), input data representing a data model in a first format, wherein the first format is one of a Kimball dimensional model format or a dbt project format. The method includes parsing the input data to generate a canonical intermediate representation that preserves semantic metadata including at least one of fact table definitions, dimension table definitions, grain definitions, surrogate key specifications, and relationship mappings. The method includes determining a target format for conversion, wherein the target format is the other of the Kimball dimensional model format or the dbt project format, transforming the canonical intermediate representation into the target format to generate output data, and maintaining traceability between the input data and the output data through the canonical intermediate representation.
