Abstract: In recent years, the demand for efficient power conversion systems has intensified, particularly in applications involving renewable energy sources and electric vehicles. Conventional DC- DC converters often suffer from significant switching losses and reverse recovery issues related to the body diodes of the switches, necessitating the development of improved technologies. This study addresses these shortfalls by proposing a bidirectional multiport DC-DC converter that employs a soft-switching technique using a lossless active snubber. The primary objective of this research is to achieve zero-voltage- -switching (ZVS) for the main switches, thereby minimizing switching losses while addressing conduction losses associated with additional components in the converter. The methodology involves designing an active snubber comprising auxiliary switches, diodes, an inductor, and a capacitor, which facilitates ZVS operation. The MATLAB simulation results indicate that the implemented design significantly reduces switching losses, improving overall efficiency. The ZVS of the main switches was successfully verified, and the results show a notable enhancement in performance compared to traditional converters. The findings suggest that the proposed bidirectional DC-DC converter overcomes existing technological limitations and presents a viable solution for efficient power management in modern applications.
