MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511015629 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 22, 2025, for Beverage Spill Prevention Device.

Inventors include Dr. Arminder Kaur; and Dr. Vijay Laxmi Tripathi.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A beverage spill prevention device, comprising a semicircular plate 101 having multiple flaps 102 configured with multiple pin joints attached with periphery of plate 101 via hinges for griping onto an upper end of a tumbler, a pair of clippers 103 provided on lateral sides of plate 101 impart additional grip, an iris lid 104 provided towards a rounded edge of plate 101 for passage of fluid during drinking, a laser sensor provided on plate 101 detects diameter of tumbler, an imaging unit 106 installed on plate 101 determine position of user’s mouth, multiple pop-out balls 105 for aligning iris lid 104 with user mouth during drinking, a rectangular frame 107 attached under plate 101 adjacent to iris lid 104 via a pivot joint, a mesh 108 is attached within frame 107 for preventing passage of solid particle via iris lid 104 during drinking.
