MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611105088 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology Piet on September 01, 2026, for Benzopyrazole–thiazolidin-4-One Hybrid Compounds And Process For Preparation Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Benu Chaudhary; Mr. Kapil Kumar; Babita Patial; and Abhishek Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to benzopyrazole–thiazolidin-4-one hybrid compounds and a process for preparation thereof. The process comprises reacting substituted 2- fluorobenzonitrile with substituted hydrazine in methanol under reflux conditions to obtain a substituted aminobenzopyrazole intermediate, followed by reaction involving chloroacetic acid and subsequent cyclization with thioglycolic acid to obtain benzopyrazole-containing thiazolidin-4-one derivatives. The synthesized compounds may be characterized using FT-IR, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR, mass spectrometry, thin-layer chromatography, and melting-point analysis. The compounds may further be evaluated by molecular docking against indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1), drug-likeness and toxicity prediction, and in vitro cytotoxicity assessment. Evaluation against HT29, HCT116, HCT15, and HCC-2998 human colorectal cancer cell lines demonstrated moderate anticancer activity, with selected derivatives exhibiting comparatively promising activity. The invention accordingly provides heterocyclic hybrid compounds and a reproducible process for preparation and biological evaluation thereof. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2]
