Abstract: The present invention relates to a benchtop brake filter test rig (100) for evaluating brake filter efficiency under a controlled laboratory environment. The benchtop brake filter test rig (100) includes a drive motor (102a) configured to be controlled by a variable frequency drive (102b) to obtain required rotational speeds, a clutch assembly (104), a brake system (106), and a brake filter (108). In an embodiment, 10 the brake system (106) includes a brake disc (106a) and a brake caliper assembly (106b) with brake pads/liners utilizing a pneumatic and hydraulic mechanism for applying braking pressure on the brake disc (106a). The brake filter (108) is securely attached to a knuckle assembly in vicinity of the brake disc (106a) for filtering particulate emissions from the brake system (106), wherein filtration15 efficiency of the brake filter (108) is evaluated by weighing the brake pads/liners and the brake filter (108) before and after the filtration.
