Abstract: The present disclosure provides a desulfurization system (100) for a direct reduction iron (DRI) plant. The system includes a plurality of inlet units (102) for capturing feed gas, a plurality of reactor vessels (104), a bypass valve (106) attached to the inlet units for regulating the flow rate of feed gas, a plurality of outlet units (108), at least one H2S analyzer, and a plurality of U-loop pipes (112) connecting components of the system. The reactor vessels are connected to the outlet units through the U- loop pipes. The U-loop pipes are configured to bear heat stress during desulfurization without the use of expansion joints or bellows, providing a bellowless design that reduces the risk of fire accidents and improves plant safety and efficiency.
