MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617091760 A) filed by Interdigital Patent Holdings, Inc. on July 29, 2026, for Beam Failure Detection And Recovery Associated With Nes Cells.

Inventors include Salim, Umer; Alfarhan, Faris; Marinier, Paul; Lee, Moon-Il; Teyeb, Oumer; Kini, Ananth; and Rao, Jaya.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for beam failure detection and recovery are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives configuration information (including an uplink indication configuration) for a first cell. If a beam failure detection counter value exceeds a first threshold and is below a second threshold (associated with beam failure detection), the WTRU may transmit a pre-beam failure indication to a network node. The network node may respond with an indication for one or more on- demand synchronization signal block (SSB) transmissions, recovery beams, or failure detection resources (FDRs). The WTRU may measure reference signals (RSs) in the transmissions and send a transmission to the network node based on the measurements.
