Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) systems that support beaconing rate adaptation, such as for target device positioning in an ESL network environment. Beaconing rate adaptation may provide for increasing, decreasing, or otherwise adapting the transmission rate of one or more beacons transmitted by one or more devices operating within a wireless communication coverage area of a wireless network. Adapting a beaconing rate may utilize one or more beaconing rate criteria, such as may be determined based on, as a function of, or otherwise using various information regarding a target device.
