Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a battery-supercapacitor integrated power processor unit (BSIPPU) (100). The BSIPPU (100) includes a common DC link (Vdc) (102) supporting a variable load (R) and an electrolytic capacitor (C0) connected thereacross. A battery system (104) having a battery bank (Vbat) is coupled to the DC link (Vdc) (102) through a first converter (106) including switches (S1-S4) and mutually coupled inductors (LB1, LB2) configured to conduct bidirectional current. A supercapacitor system (108) having a supercapacitor bank (VSC) is coupled to the DC link (Vdc) (102) through a second converter (110) including switches (S5, S6), differentially coupled inductors (LSC1, LSC2), capacitor (C1), and an r-C damping network including a damping resistor (r) and electrolytic capacitor (C2). The first converter (106) and the second converter (110) are connected in parallel, enabling integrated hybrid energy storage operation with improved transient response, low battery current stress, and controlled energy sharing.
