MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073657 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Battery Reconfiguration System And Method Using Separate Current- Interruption And Topology-Reconfiguration Subsystems.

Inventor includes Ankur Jain.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT BATTERY RECONFIGURATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING SEPARATE CURRENT-INTERRUPTION AND TOPOLOGY-RECONFIGURATION SUBSYSTEMS The present invention relates to a battery reconfiguration system (100), a battery switching architecture (200), and a method (300) for reconfiguring a battery system. The system (100) comprises a plurality of electrochemical cells (102), a topology-reconfiguration subsystem (104) having one or more reconfiguration contacts configured to establish electrical interconnections among the electrochemical cells (102), and a current-interruption subsystem (106) configured to interrupt current flow between the electrochemical cells (102) and an external circuit. The method (300) comprises interrupting (302) current flow, operating (304) the reconfiguration contacts, establishing (306) a reconfigured electrical topology, and restoring (308) current flow. Load-current interruption is performed exclusively by the current-interruption subsystem (106), while the topology- reconfiguration subsystem (104) performs battery topology establishment under substantially no-load conditions, thereby reducing arc exposure and contact degradation during battery reconfiguration. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
