MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073656 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Battery Reconfiguration System And Method Using An Intermediate Isolated Configuration.
Inventor includes Ankur Jain.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT BATTERY RECONFIGURATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING AN INTERMEDIATE ISOLATED CONFIGURATION The present invention relates to a battery reconfiguration system (100), a battery safety architecture (200), and a method (300) for reconfiguring a battery system comprising a plurality of electrochemical cells (102). The system (100) comprises a switching architecture (104) configured to selectively establish series, parallel, and isolated configurations, wherein the isolated configuration constitutes the sole permissible transition configuration between the series and parallel configurations. The switching architecture (104) incorporates a physical transition constraint embodied through geometrical arrangement of switching elements, movable switching members, and optionally rotary or linear switching arrangements actuated by one or more actuators. The method (300) comprises establishing (302) a series configuration, establishing (304) a parallel configuration, establishing (306) an isolated configuration, and transitioning (308) between the series and parallel configurations only through the isolated configuration. The invention thereby provides hardware-enforced transition sequencing and physically prevents direct active-topology transitions. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
