Abstract: ABSTRACT BATTERY MANAGEMENT GATEWAY SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF A battery management gateway system (100) and method (200) for an electric vehicle is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a gateway housing (102) electrically coupled between a plurality of battery packs (104A-104N) and an electrical load (106), a plurality of battery input channels (108A-108N), a power management circuit (110), a communication processing circuit (114), and a controller (118). The power management circuit (110) comprises one or more unidirectional current control elements (112) configured to permit power delivery from the battery packs (104A-104N) while substantially preventing reverse current flow, cross-charging, and surge-current transfer between battery packs having different voltage levels. The controller (118) receives battery-status data from the battery packs, identifies the source battery pack corresponding to each communication message, remaps overlapping communication identifiers into battery-specific unique identifiers, generates aggregated battery information representative of a consolidated operating state of the battery packs, and transmits both individual battery information and aggregated battery information to at least one vehicle control system (122).
