Abstract: A battery efficiency and thermal management system for monitoring, controlling and protecting a battery pack is disclosed. The system comprises temperature sensors, a voltage sensor, a current sensor, a microcontroller, a thermal-management unit, power-control electronics and a communication module. The microcontroller receives real-time temperature, voltage and current data and compares the data with predetermined operating thresholds to identify abnormal battery conditions. The controller determines battery operating parameters including State of Charge, charging or discharging efficiency and temperature-rise trends. Upon detection of excessive temperature, the thermal-management unit is selectively activated, and charging or discharging current is regulated according to the detected condition. Power-control electronics selectively restrict or interrupt electrical power flow during overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit or critical thermal conditions. The communication module communicates battery parameters and fault information to an external interface. Continuous feedback enables closed-loop monitoring, thermal regulation, protection and optimization of battery operation. (Accompanied Figure No. 1-2)
