Abstract: A battery diagnostic method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a measurement information obtaining step of obtaining measurement information on the voltage and current of a battery; a side reaction amount calculating step of calculating the amount of side reactions that occur during a storage period in which the battery is stored in a no-load state, the amount of side reactions being calculated on the basis of the measurement information; and a diagnosing step of comparing the calculated amount of side reactions with a preset reference amount and diagnosing a state, related to the amount of gas generated inside the battery, according to the comparison result.
