Abstract: The battery cell according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly in which a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween are wound around a winding axis to define a core and an outer circumferential surface, wherein the first electrode includes an active material portion coated with an active material layer along the winding direction and a first uncoated portion which is not coated with an active material layer, and at least a portion of the first uncoated portion itself is used as an electrode tab; a battery housing configured to accommodate the electrode assembly through an opening formed on one side thereof; a housing cover configured to cover the opening and including a through-hole at the center thereof; and a recessed ball configured to be inserted into the through-hole.
