Abstract: The present disclosure provides a battery carrier assembly (100) for space saving in a vehicle (10). The assembly (100) comprises a battery support tray (102) configured to support a plurality of batteries (101), a battery retaining bracket (105) disposed above the plurality of batteries (101) and configured to secure the plurality of batteries (101) to the battery support tray (102), at least one threaded rod (106) configured to secure the battery retaining bracket (105) to the battery support tray (102), and a plurality of cleat plates (104). Each cleat plate (104) is attachable to the battery support tray (102) and configured to mount the battery support tray (102) to a chassis (12) of the vehicle (10). Each cleat plate (104) is positionable at selectable locations along the battery support tray (102) to accommodate different wheelbases of the vehicle (10). In another embodiment, a hollow rectangular frame (103) is configured to couple the battery support tray (102) to the chassis (12), providing enhanced bending stiffness and an improved strength- to-weight ratio.
