MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621096414 A) filed by Kpi Green Hydrogen And Ammonia Private Limited on August 10, 2026, for Battery-Assisted Controlled Shutdown System For Electrolyzer-Based Hydrogen Generation Plants.

Inventors include Komal Rajendra Jarhad; and Sathyajit Shaji.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a battery-assisted controlled shutdown system for an electrolyzer-based hydrogen generation plant comprising a renewable energy source (100), a Battery Energy Storage System (104), a Power Conversion System (108), an Energy Management System (110), an electrolyzer stack (114), a cooling system (118), a hydrogen purge line (126), a pressure balancing system (128), a sensor network (134), and a plant controller (136). Upon interruption of renewable power or occurrence of a fault condition, the Energy Management System activates battery-assisted power to selected auxiliary loads while discontinuing electrolysis current and sequentially performs cooling, hydrogen purging, pressure equalization, controlled venting, valve isolation, and stack de-energization until a verified safe shutdown condition is achieved. The coordinated shutdown methodology preserves electrochemical integrity and enables controlled stabilization of the hydrogen generation plant during emergency shutdown conditions.
