Abstract: The present invention, is a sorting and processing method for post consumer waste from caps and closures, namely derived from caps and closures from still mineral water (SMW) and carbonated soft drink (CSD) applications from beverage packaging, with a ballistic separation by means of different weight due to different material and modality. The method comprises further sorting, washing, optional color sorting, shredding and recovering of the initial solid waste material, to obtain a purified recyclate for re-use in an almost close-loop system again for beverage packaging and drinking applications with improved properties.
