MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641097718 A) filed by Jss Academy Of Higher Education And Research Jssaher on August 12, 2026, for Axitinib-Loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier Composition And Process Thereof For The Management Of Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Inventors include M P Venkatesh; Abirami K; and Purnima Sinha.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an Axitinib-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) formulation for the management of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Axitinib, a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor inhibitor, exhibits limited aqueous solubility and bioavailability, restricting its therapeutic effectiveness. The NLC formulation was developed using a melt emulsification–ultrasonication technique and optimized using statistical design of experiments. The optimized formulation demonstrated efficient drug entrapment, sustained Axitinib release up to 132 hours, and concentration-dependent cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231 cells, supporting its potential for TNBC management.
