Abstract: AUTONOMOUS UAV-ASSISTED SELF-HEALING C-RAN SYSTEM USING GNN-BASED RRH FAULT DETECTION The present invention relates to an autonomous UAV-assisted self-healing Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) system employing Graph Neural Network (GNN)-based Remote Radio Head (RRH) fault detection. The system comprises a centralized baseband unit pool, multiple RRHs, a monitoring module, a GNN-based fault detection module, and a UAV equipped with radio access functionality. Operational parameters including channel state information, fronthaul latency, traffic load, interference metrics, and RRH health indicators are represented as a graph in which RRHs correspond to nodes and inter-RRH relationships correspond to edges. The GNN analyzes the graph to detect RRH faults in real time. Upon fault confirmation, the UAV is autonomously dispatched to an affected area and positioned using a learning-based control algorithm. The UAV establishes a wireless fronthaul connection and operates as a temporary aerial RRH. The centralized baseband unit pool dynamically integrates the UAV into the C-RAN cluster through updated user association, power allocation, load balancing, and precoding operations. The invention enables rapid fault recovery, reduced service disruption, enhanced network resilience, and improved operational efficiency in 5G and future 6G communication networks.
