MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611116348 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 29, 2026, for Autonomous Sensor-Enabled Grooming Device.
Inventors include Satwinder Singh; and Garima Chandel.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous grooming device for monitoring and condition-responsive treatment of hair and scalp. The device comprises a sealed housing having a comb head and a handle, an imaging module, a bio-impedance and moisture sensor array, a fluid reservoir, a piezoelectric micro-pump, hollow-core delivery bristles, and a controller. The imaging module captures visual information of the hair and scalp, while the sensor array obtains moisture and electrical impedance information from a contacted scalp region. The controller processes the sensing information and selectively activates the micro-pump when a predefined treatment condition is satisfied, thereby delivering a controlled quantity of treatment fluid through the hollow-core bristles. The device further incorporates wireless communication, inductive charging, and a UV-C cleaning module provided with a docking stand. The integrated arrangement enables real-time scalp monitoring, targeted fluid delivery, wireless charging, and automated cleaning in a single grooming device
