MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078012 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 24, 2026, for Autonomous Patrolling Robot System And Method For Real-Time Multi- Event Detection And Alerting.
Inventors include Gugapriya G; and Ranbir Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an autonomous patrolling robot system (100) for real-time multi-event detection and alerting. The robot system (100) includes a robotic platform (102) having a motor driver (104) and a locomotion arrangement (106) for autonomous navigation. The robotic platform (102) houses and supports functional components (108) including image capturing unit (112), obstacle detection unit (114), communication unit (126), and processing unit (110). The processing unit (110) receives visual data from image capturing unit (112) and performs adaptive multi-event analysis using a plurality of Artificial Intelligence (AI) detection units (110-8). The AI detection units (110-8) detect security events. The processing unit (110) classifies and logs detected events, generates alerts including event information, location information, and timestamps, and transmits visual data and alerts through the communication unit (126) for remote monitoring and supervision. The robot system (100) thereby enables autonomous patrolling and real-time security monitoring.
