Abstract: Autonomous Multi-Sensor Crop Disease Detection and Precision Spraying System ABSTRACT The system of autonomous multi- sensor crop disease detection and precision spraying for intelligent crop-health monitoring and on-demand agrochemical delivery is related to the present invention. An embedded processing and control unit integrate all of RGB imaging, multispectral sensing, thermal sensing, environmental monitoring, positioning and inertial measurement (IMU), obstacle-detection modules. The procedures include extracting and fusing multi-sensor data to locate the regions with diseased crops, classify disease conditions, measure severity at locations and estimate spatial locations of affected plants. An assessment module assesses the condition detected and produces a command to treat the condition based on disease types, degrees of severity, confidence level, target position, and operating environment using both treating robots governing algorithms as well as human feedback. An autonomous platform passes through rows of crops, constantly checking the health of a plant and adjusting its path based on field geometry and obstacles detected along its way. The treatment only occurs in the regions of the diseased crop by a precision spraying subsystem including a fluid reservoir, pump, electronically controlled valves and independently actuated nozzles. Spraying timing, nozzle choice, flow rate and time of application are controlled based on target place, platform speed, disease severity rates and sensors-nozzle displacement. The proposed integrated sensing, localization decision-making, and spraying architecture allows real-time or near-real-time disease management while minimizing the potential for unnecessary treatment of healthy plants over a large area. The system also provides digital tracking of disease type, severity, location, environment and spray application data, facilitating future monitoring and field management. The invention relates herein to an automated detection-to-treatment (D2T) framework for enhanced crop disease management, treatment precision, agricultural chemical use efficiency, and operational efficiencies in precision agriculture.
