Abstract: Autonomous Multi-Drone Coordination System for Large-Scale Agricultural Monitoring is the proposed invention. Here, we propose an autonomous multi-drone coordination system for large-scale agricultural monitoring based on Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning (MADRL). Drones with RGB, multispectral, thermal, LiDAR, GPS and edge AI modules collaboratively monitor large agricultural fields with decentralised decision making and wireless mesh communication. The MADRL framework is capable of efficiently assigning monitoring tasks, calculating optimal flight paths, avoiding collisions, removing redundant coverage and adapting to changes in environmental conditions and drone availability. Onboard artificial intelligence analyses aerial images in real time to detect crop diseases, pest attacks, nutrient deficiencies, irrigation stress, weed distribution and differences in crop growth. The data from multiple drones is brought together to form a complete geospatial field map, which can be used to predict the health of crops and offer precision farming recommendations. Continuous reinforcement learning is used to improve successive operations in terms of coordination efficiency, energy utilisation and mission performance. The invention provides scalable, autonomous and intelligent agriculture monitoring for enhanced crop productivity, sustainable farming, reduced operational costs and efficient management of large agricultural landscapes.
