MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083488 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on July 07, 2026, for Autonomous Infant Safety System And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Rahul Gurjar; and Khushi Singh.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an Autonomous Infant Safety System (100) designed to proactively prevent infant falls from a sleeping surface. The system comprises a rigid chassis (101) integrated with a Multi-Modal Sensor Fusion Layer, which includes a pressure-mapping matrix (110) embedded in the mattress and peripheral Time-of-Flight (ToF) LiDAR sensors (112). These sensors feed real-time kinematic data to a Predictive Logic Control Unit (PLCU) (150). Upon detecting a critical fall risk where the TTE drops below a safety threshold, the PLCU commands a Dynamic Actuation Subsystem, activating silent linear actuators (122) to rapidly deploy retractable barricades (120) from a stowed position. The system operates on a dual-redundant power supply (160) ensuring functionality during power outages and includes IoT connectivity for remote caregiver monitoring.
