MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611092492 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 30, 2026, for Autonomous Biophysiological Sensor Platform For Early Onco-Environmental Stress Detection.
Inventors include Harleen Kaur; and Nitish Kumar Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous environmental monitoring platform for detecting early biological stress responses associated with environmental conditions that contribute to cancer risk. The platform integrates bio-physiological sensing technology with Internet of Things (IoT) communication to enable continuous, distributed, and real-time environmental health surveillance. It comprises multiple sensing units containing controlled biological elements housed within bio-physiological sensing chambers. Environmental samples, including airborne pollutants, toxic particles, and chemical contaminants, interact with the biological sensing elements, producing measurable physiological responses indicative of environmental stress. Integrated biosensors convert these responses into electrical signals, which are processed by embedded electronics and transmitted through IoT communication modules to a centralized monitoring platform. The collected data is analysed to identify environmental stress patterns, generate location-specific risk indicators, and issue early warning alerts. The invention facilitates large-scale, autonomous monitoring, reduces dependence on laboratory testing, and supports proactive environmental health management.
