MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050304 A) filed by Auto Ignition Ltd. on April 20, 2026, for Automotive Alternator With Sheet Metal Plate Inserts In Cooling Fan Assembly.

Inventor includes Debabrata Dey.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an automotive alternator assembly incorporating an improved cooling fan mounting arrangement. The alternator comprises a rotor (8), a stator core (9) having stator windings (10), and a rectifier (13). A cooling fan assembly is mounted on the rotor (8) for dissipating heat generated during operation. The cooling fan assembly comprises a sheet metal plate inserts moulded with a plastic cooling fan (10) to form an integrated structure, wherein the sheet metal plate inserts provide structural reinforcement and the plastic cooling fan(10) forms airflow-generating blades. The improved technique of sheet metal plate insertion eliminates the need for ultrasonic welding and provide notch for spot welding thereby reducing manufacturing cost and process complexity. The cooling fan generates airflow to cool internal components. The invention provides improved mechanical strength, reliability under vibration and thermal stress, and enables re-workability while remaining compatible with existing alternator designs. Ref.
