MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050302 A) filed by Auto Ignition Ltd. on April 20, 2026, for Automotive Alternator Rectifier Terminal With Improved Crimping And Soldering Arrangement.

Inventor includes Chandan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified terminal design for a rectifier assembly (13A) in an automotive alternator, particularly at the junction between a warning lamp (WL) terminal (10.1) and a rectifier terminal within a connector assembly (10A). In conventional designs, limited space at the junction restricts effective crimping and soldering, leading to weak and unreliable electrical connections. The invention provides a geometrically modified WL terminal (10.1) and/or rectifier terminal defining an enlarged interface region that offers sufficient clearance and surface area for assembly operations. The terminals are mechanically secured by crimping and subsequently soldered to form a strong and low-resistance electrical connection. The modified design improves accessibility, enables proper crimp deformation and solder flow, and reduces defective joints. The connector assembly (10A) is integrated within the alternator comprising a rotor (8), stator (9), and housing (11), thereby enhancing manufacturability, reliability, and durability without requiring major structural modifications.
