MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641033713 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology Tiruchirappalli on March 20, 2026, for Automatic Night Lamp System Using Photo-Sensor + Arduino Nano.
Inventors include S. A. Immanuel Raj; A. Jagad Guru; and Dr. K. Vaishnavi.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: The current invention is an automated lighting control system that smartly turns a light on or off depending on how much light is already in the room. More specifically, the invention describes an Automatic Night Lamp System that uses a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) photo-sensor connected to an Arduino Nano microcontroller to control lighting in a way that saves energy and works on its own. The system is meant to make it so that you don't have to operate it by hand, use less power, and make homes, businesses, and public places safer and more convenient. In normal lighting systems, people usually control the lamps with switches or timers that are set to go off at certain times. People often use these systems in ways that waste energy because they forget to turn them on at the right time or because the weather changes, like when it gets cloudy or when the days get longer in the summer. It is also not practical to switch things by hand in large installations like streetlights, parking lots, campuses, and factories.
