Abstract: This project presents the design and development of an automated lighting control device that adjusts the brightness of a light source according to ambient light conditions. The device utilizes a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) as a sensor to detect varying levels of atmospheric brightness. A microcontroller, Arduino UNO, reads the sensor's output and processes the data to dynamically control the light intensity using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). A transistor or MOSFET is employed to regulate the power supplied to a dimmable light source, enabling smooth and efficient brightness adjustment. By using sensors to adjust lighting levels according to natural light, occupancy, or pre-set schedules, the system reduces electricity consumption, lower costs, and minimizes the need for manual. They ensure energy efficiency, user comfort, automation, cost, savings, sustainability.
