Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanically actuated self-lifting toilet seat assembly configured to improve hygiene, user safety, and convenience without requiring electrical power or electronic components. The assembly comprises a toilet seat mounted through a hinge incorporating a calibrated torsion spring that stores mechanical energy when the seat is lowered and automatically returns the seat to an upright position upon removal of user load. A damping mechanism regulates the upward movement to provide smooth, gradual, and substantially silent operation, while an angle-limiting structure prevents excessive rotation and impact with adjacent fixtures. The assembly is designed as a retrofit-compatible hinge system for installation on standard toilet fixtures with minimal modification. In certain embodiments, a passive weight-responsive retention mechanism maintains the seat in a lowered position during use and automatically releases it thereafter. The invention provides a durable, low-maintenance, and cost-effective mechanical solution for residential and public sanitation facilities.
