Abstract: AUTOMATIC GROOVING MACHINE FOR CUSTOMIZED TUBULAR EXTERNAL FIXATORS IN MEDICAL APPLICATIONS The titled invention discloses an automatic grooving machine for producing 5 customized grooves on tubular external fixators used in medical applications. The machine comprises a holding fixture (1) mounted on a machine bed (3) for securing the tubular external fixator in fixed position during machining. A grooving tool (2) is aligned with the tubular external fixator to produce controlled groove on outer surface. A guide rail and lead screw mechanism (7) coupled with a stepper motor system (5) 10 provides accurate linear motion required for groove formation. A programming unit with display (4) enables input of groove parameters according to patient-specific requirement A control system (8) regulates coordinated operation of mechanical components. A base frame (6) supports the machine in compact tabletop configuration suitable for hospital laboratory environment enabling rapid preparation of customized 15 tubular external fixators.
