Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: AUTOMATIC DOSE DETECTION AND LOGGING SYSTEM FOR PHARMACEUTICAL BLISTER PACKS The present invention relates to an automatic dose detection and logging system for pharmaceutical blister packs (1), comprising a clip-on support structure (2), cavity sensing assembly (3), position detection assembly (4), processing unit (5), memory unit (6), timekeeping unit (7), communication unit (8), power unit (9) and monitoring device (10). The clip-on support structure (2) positions the cavity sensing assembly (3) relative to individual tablet cavities without permanent modification of the pharmaceutical blister pack (1). The cavity sensing assembly (3) detects a cavity state transition produced by removal of an individual tablet. The processing unit (5) identifies the dose event and associates the event with cavity position and date and time information. The memory unit (6) stores sequential dose records and the communication unit (8) transfers the records to the monitoring device (10). The system provides non-invasive, reusable and cavity-specific medication dose monitoring while retaining the original pharmaceutical blister-pack arrangement. Figure - 1
