Inventors include Dr. K. Malathi; Dr. M. Vijay Anand; Dr. S. Asha; Dr. Rajendra Thilahar C; and Ms. P. Ponmathi Jeba Kiruba.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated weed detection and removal machine configured for intelligent weed management in agricultural environments. The machine comprises a mobile platform, image acquisition subsystem, artificial intelligence processing engine, autonomous navigation system, robotic weed removal mechanism, communication subsystem, and operational control unit. The image acquisition subsystem captures visual and environmental information associated with vegetation present within an agricultural field. Artificial intelligence algorithms process the acquired information to distinguish weeds from cultivated crop plants and determine precise weed locations. The navigation subsystem enables autonomous movement and route planning throughout the agricultural field. Upon weed identification, the robotic weed removal mechanism performs targeted weed elimination through mechanical extraction, cutting, thermal treatment, laser treatment, electrical treatment, or combinations thereof. The machine further generates weed distribution maps, operational analytics, and precision agriculture information while supporting cloud-based monitoring and remote management. The invention reduces manual labor requirements, minimizes herbicide usage, improves weed control accuracy, enhances crop productivity, supports sustainable farming practices, and provides an efficient automated solution for modern agricultural weed management.
