The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Precise monitoring of urinary output is a critical clinical parameter for assessing the hemodynamic stability and renal health of patients in intensive care and surgical settings. Traditional manual measurement methods are labor-intensive, prone to human error, and often suffer from inconsistent recording intervals, which can delay the diagnosis of conditions such as Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) or sepsis. This invention discloses an Automated Urine Output Monitoring Device designed to provide real- time, high-precision quantification of urine volume and flow rates. The system utilizes a non-invasive sensing architecture, integrating high-sensitivity load cell transducers and infrared optical sensors to measure cumulative volume and instantaneous droplet frequency. This dualsensor approach ensures high accuracy even in low-flow conditions. Data is processed via an onboard low-power microcontroller, which applies digital filtering algorithms to eliminate noise caused by patient movement or tube oscillation. The device features a wireless communication module that transmits data to a centralized nursing station, enabling continuous digital charting and automated alerts for oliguria or polyuria. Designed for seamless clinical integration, the device features a universal mounting bracket compatible with standard drainage bags and is powered by a long-life rechargeable battery. By automating the data acquisition process, this invention reduces the risk of cross- contamination associated with manual handling, optimizes nursing workflows, and provides clinicians with a high-resolution physiological data stream for improved patient outcomes. This device represents a significant advancement in medical telemetry, ensuring that vital renal function data is captured with surgical precision and immediate clinical accessibility.
