MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641059089 A) filed by Morla Girish Chandra on May 08, 2026, for Automated Turn Indication System And Method With Real-Time Signal-Action Mismatch Detection And Correction For Vehicles.

Inventor includes Morla Girish Chandra.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicular turn indication system (100) that provides real-time detection and autonomous correction of turn signal misuse in vehicles, addressing the problem of wrong, absent, forgotten, and false turn signals without requiring any change in rider behaviour. The system (100) includes an angular position sensing means (102) that classifies the vehicle's directional control mechanism into one of three states, such as leftward, neutral, or rightward, relative to a calibrated neutral reference; a signal monitoring interface (104) that detects the activation state of the existing manual turn indication circuitry; a programmable processor (106) that detects mismatch between the rider's indicated direction and the actual classified directional state, cancels incorrect signals, and activates correct signals autonomously; a signal output interface (108) coupled to indicator circuits in a non-substitutive parallel configuration. The existing manual indication system remains fully operational and independently functional at all times, and a vehicle speed sensing input (110) that determines the operational mode of the system. A configurable duration threshold continuously suppresses false signal activation from transient non-turning inputs, with visual indication output modulated proportionally to vehicle speed, and the invention has been reduced to practice in a working standalone retrofit embodiment.
